RSS related directions
That was mostly due to the fact that blogs weren't linked properly to the RSS feeds. Additional information on what a blog and RSS is, can be found here.
Normally, blog platforms automatically include in the header of blogs the <meta> tag referring the feeds. However, still there are blogs that don't have it.
In that case readers can't subscribe to keeping updated on your posting through RSS, neither BlogUpp! could share your articles and promote your blog.
In order to sort that out, for those that are to face this issue, please consider including the following line in the <header> of blog's html:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS TITLE" href="http://www.blog_address.com/rss_file_name.xml" />changing in it
title and href attributes to the actual ones.A simple way to check whether it has been done correctly, is just to open your weblog in a web browser, and see wether the RSS icon is enabled, meaning that it has detected your feeds.
Please note that empty RSS post titles prevent BlogUpp! from building a proper blog's snapshot, i.e. in a specific format. If that is your case, please consider adjusting them before submitting.
Note as well that while accessing some blogs, there might be shown a Google "Content Warning" page with the following text:
The blog that you are about to view may contain content only suitable for adults. In general, Google does not review nor do we endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit the Blogger Terms of Service. Please have in mind that if your blog falls into such a category, the same warning page is seen by our service's bot while it tries to access your blog, and respectively there is no RSS detected for it.
Additionally to the above, we'd like to mention an extract from BlogUpp!'s home page:
All submitted blogs are analyzed individually and approved manually in a timely manner.Hopefully the above help you join our community, and we welcome you in advance!
There are not accepted adult, gambling, and illegal or inappropriate content websites.

Being one of these bloggers whos blog wasn't recognized, i discovered the culprit.
My wordpress was instructed to give gzipped content "if the browsers ask so". Aparently, BlogUpp! asks for gzipped when in fact it doesn't know a yota about it.
Just disabled gzip in wordpress options and it worked like a charm!
I'm using a self-hosted Wordpress installation with Feedburner feeds and Blogupp! does not recognize my feed. I have an RSS icon showing in my browser when viewing my page and my RSS is using the proper meta tags:
link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Artisan Love RSS Feed" href="http://artisanlove.com/feed/"
Please advise.
Indeed, everything is configured properly, and there shouldn't be an issue with submitting your blog.
Probably there had been a connectivity issue, which was settled, as we've noticed that you managed to successfully submit your blog.
Thanks for your patience, and please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
I think that in my blog posts tendo RSS well, but at the moment trying to enter blogupp tells me that I do not have RSS or is empty ..
as you can help me?
@GeekBoy: Please send us by email the link to your blog, for us to be able to assist you further.
Thanks.
I'm also trying to enter and blogupp tells me that I do not have RSS or is empty....my link is http.://robertadacosta.blogspot.com
@Anonymous / Roberta Dacosta: Thanks for asking.
Your blog's case is the one mentioned above, and namely that the post titles are empty. As they are mandatory for our service to properly spread your posting within our community, the only solution is to edit your postings and specify the titles.
Also can't add. I have titles, I have RSS working (followed your excellent tutorial) and still can't add. Could you advise?
Jack, you are right. Everything seems working in Firefox. But not in Internet Explorer, whose components we rely on while getting the RSS. The error Internet Explorer displays while accessing your feeds is the following: "Feeds with DTDs are not supported", and as a result no RSS is visible.
Please review your configuration (try googling for the text of the error) and re-submit again.
Hi. I operate Slungover.com and have recently installed an rss feed.
I found the above to be helpful and have used the meta declaration to designate the location of my feed, but I still am having trouble reading the file, or at least the BlogUpp software is. I am curious as to what I might be having trouble doing at this point... I would love to appreciate what it is you all do.
@Slung: Thanks for being receptive to our recommendations.
Concerning the latest issue you are reporting - we've tested your weblog from different locations, and it showed up that it isn't accessible from our production servers, which are US based.
There might be something wrong with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) routers configuration. The tracing goes up to "hostnoc.net", and then stops, without reaching slungover.com.
Please consider contacting your provider for further support. Should you need additional information, please let us know.
Hola mi nombre es Yesenia:
He puesto a Blog Upp en dos de mis blogs sin ningún problema, pero el tercero me dice que no tiene RSS o ue esta vacío, ¿por que en ese no puedo?. El blog en cuestión es:
http://cusodenutricionysalud.blogspot.com
Muchas Gracias por su atención
Yesenia, please consider Google Translate widget in the sidebar on the right to understand our reply, should you not know English.
The link you've provided above stands for a deleted blog, and it seems it was mistyped.
We've identified the blog in question from your profile, and here is the reason you can't manage to submit your blog: the posts do not have titles, which are necessary in order to build a proper RSS image.
Please consider adding titles, and try again.
So weird, my blog actully has rss feed:
http://www.techmango.com/blog/feed.asp ,
but blogupp said it hasn't rss!?
It's true, your blog (http://www.techmango.com/blog/) has RSS - and you should be ok submitting it.
It looks however you are trying to submit your main url (http://www.techmango.com), which has no RSS actually. Having that in mind - please try again.
I'm trying to enter and blogupp tells me that I do not have RSS or is empty. my link is http.://afrikanka.blogspot.com
@SANA, You can easily sort that out just by adding titles to your blog posts. As we've mentioned above in several instances, empty RSS post titles prevent BlogUpp! from building a proper blog's snapshot.
Please consider that, and try again.
I'm also trying to enter and blogupp tells me that I do not have RSS or is empty....my link is http.://sandracliques.blogspot.com
@Sandra Boaventura, the first problem is that your blog has no blogging content as such, but just PTC banners.
Secondly, as stated in our Terms of Service, we are not accepting such blogs.
Thanks for understanding.
hello, I've added the tag to the template header;
as well, I have an rss widget of my site playing fine;
that was built with widgetbox; so I don't understand why
your widget won't detect my rss feed.
there are two feeds; I use selfhosted wordpress;
@Recycled Frockery, you are right - your blog has RSS feeds configured.
But they have as well to contain the blog posts, whereas all your feeds variations are completely empty when accessed through Firefox, and display and error through Internet Explorer.
Just click on the RSS icon in your browser while on your blog, and check it yourself.
Please consider fixing the error and you are welcome to resubmit.
Hello, I've tried to add http://www.ru-xxi.ru/feed/ to blogupp, but it says that there is no blog. Please help. (please note! the blog is in Russian).
@ru-xxi, no problem.
We see that you have RSS feeds, but the blog is not configured for browsers to detect your blog feeds.
To solve this, there should be added into your blog's header the following:
'link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RU-XXI RSS" href="http://www.ru-xxi.ru/feed/"' (correct the syntax as mentioned in the post above)
Then just visit blogupp.com, and enter your blog URL, i.e. http://www.ru-xxi.ru.
Let us know if you need more assistance.
While I was trying to get your widget for my site theosophus.com on wordpress platform, I got the error message of having no RSS feed. To rectify the fault, I pasted the code provided by your site on style sheet of my site under header, but the RSS icon did not show in the header area. For your information, the file was not an html file but a php file.
Will you pl. suggest me an alternative way through my email rambansal@theosophus.com
@Ram Bansal, you are on the right track.
Note however that besides having a reference in your blog to RSS, the feeds themselves need to be valid.
In your blog's case, when accessing your RSS feeds through a web browser there are displayed xml parsing errors. Click on the RSS icon in your browser while on your blog, and check it yourself.
To fix that you might want to consider registering your blog with FeedBurner, and update your feeds reference.
We are repeating, that's not a standard situation, as the blogging platforms normally set the feeds automatically, and it occurs when using custom techniques.
Please let us know if you need further assistance, so that you could resubmit your blog successfully.
Hello,
my blog is http://newsforthelazy.blogspot.com
I am fairly new to blogging, so when reading the comments above, I just got more confused.
It says I don't have a RSS.
Please help me out
@Ricky, as mentioned in the post above, to check whether your RSS feeds are correctly configured, just open your weblog in a web browser, and see wether the RSS icon is enabled, meaning that it has detected your feeds.
Your blog feeds are not detectable. Please consider following the above recommendations, and re-submit.
As a Blogspot blogger, you might want to explore Blogspot help to find out why your blog is not RSS enabled. It seems at first glance that you've done some customization, which disabled it.
Hi, I have a few sites I'd like to enroll but it's just not working for me. On the site http://www.newzgeek.com I followed the instructions to make sure the meta tag mentioned above is included in the home page and it is. The page also displays and RSS link, and clicking on the link brings you to http://www.newzgeek.com/newzgeek.xml, which you can subscribe to with an RSS reader, meaning that it's a legal page. Yet when I try to get the widget, I get the "sorry" message. What else should I do? The site was built in iWeb, if that makes a difference (I have modified if considerably and a lot of manual html adjusting when into it).
@ds, hi!
Your issue is determined by the redirects on your blog. The initial landing pages don't have RSS as such, while the redirects have been disabled on purpose in order to invalidate tricky submissions, such as those of shortened URLs.
Try specifying complete path to your feeds also on landing pages, and re-submit.
I have coppied the widget above but I don't know where should I paste on it in my blog. You said : the header of blog's html.Where is it ?How can I change the title,is it the title of my blog or something else
Thank you
@Abdul, your blog is already RSS-enabled, however the error is in the feeds themselves.
Everything seems working in Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer (whose components we rely on while reading feeds). Please try accessing yourself the blog RSS through IE, and see "more information" for details.
Once you review your configuration (try googling for the text of the error), you are welcome to re-submit at blogupp.com
I tried to submit my blog in both FF and IE, but get this message:
Sorry, there is no RSS for this weblog, or it is empty. BlogUpp! needs it for sharing articles.
I have checked the link in the header, the RSS is showing correctly in both browsers, and by clicking the RSS icon, I can subscribe to the rss feed. Titles are there as well as content.
My blog url is http://www.integralwebsolutions.co.za/Blog.aspx
THanks for you help
@Robert, your case is a unique one.
Indeed, on front operations the blog feeds seem to work fine. However the case needs further investigation. We'll get in touch as you as soon as the cause is identified. One of the suppositions is that a redirect is taking place, preventing the feeds from being detected on the initial landing page.
I too am hosting my own wordpress blog and the rss link at the top is working in both IE and FireFox. Any suggestions? I have titles. Please help. Thanks.
@littlehouse, you are right - the RSS link on your blog is ok, although there is lacking a line of code, which will instruct web browsers to recognize your blog feeds, which isn't happening right now.
In the source code of your blog, there is just a reference to appleboxdesign.com/littlehouse. Please consider that and re-apply.
Thank you for looking at my RSS problem. I was afraid that it might be the redirect that was a problem. If I sign up using the true address:
www.appleboxdesign.com/littlehouse
is there a way to mask this with blogupp so it just points to the domain www.littlehouseinthevalley.com? For instance, my domain name is masked even though it is redirecting. Please let me know. thanks!
@littlehouse, the solution would be to insert in the landing page (littlehouseinthevalley.com) the one line of code (mentioned above in this tutorial) with the actual RSS link.
To mask URLs is not supported for now.
Hopefully this helps; nevertheless, please feel free to email us for further follow up.
I Agree With Ali
Blogupp is Awesome and It work Great
I followed the suggestions and it still is saying there is a problem with my RSS.

@Nora, your blog doesn't have post titles as such, which are required to broadcast correctly your blog updates. You could fix that easily by considering to add titles to new blog posts.
